FOR YOGA TEACHERS PODCAST: NEW EPISODE πŸ™Œ

Should yoga teachers care about competition from other yoga teachers?

This episode is looking at a niggle in the yoga teaching world; competition from other yoga teachers.

We’re looking at:

  • why a bit of competition is a good thing
  • how to not let it get the better of you - with practical, implementable tips here as always
  • how to stay in your lane
  • how yoga philosophy can help
  • understanding that more than one yoga teacher can thrive at a time
  • how we can build a network of collaboration over competition

Let’s do this!

ANNOUNCING

The base for yoga teachers

Building a network of yoga teachers is really building a network of friends, the intention of a little HR department, an ethics sounding board, a constant source of inspiration, a cover list and so much more.

But how do you even start building your network?

You start here!

Introducing:

The Base

For Yoga Teachers has created a membership community, in order to be your network. The intention is that you’ll be able to meet other yoga teachers and exchange advice, opportunities and just be there for each other.

Sometimes teaching yoga can be lonely, well no more!

Membership includes, of course, access to the members area, as well as to some of our most popular resources, including the Set and Smash Your Yoga Teaching Goals course, Create Your Yoga Brand, Become a full time yoga teacher, as well as monthly group coaching sessions.

There’s so much more coming too, including β€˜Teach less, earn more’ for yoga teachers who are facing burn out, philosophy study sessions and a whole lot more. I’m really really excited about this. I just wish it had been available when I started teaching!

Stay tuned for more info... I just can’t wait to welcome you in!

ADVICE YOU'VE NEEDED THIS WEEK

How can I increase my yoga work, when I'm still working full time?

This week I had a lovely call with a Yoga Hero teacher training graduate, who's happy-ish in their job, but just loving teaching yoga so much that they want to up their yoga work.... but working 37.5 hours per week doesn't really allow for that.

We talked first and foremost about finances; whilst quitting the day job and focusing on teaching yoga might be the dream, it also might turn out like a nightmare if there's not enough yoga income to pay all the bills.

We then talked about quitting the job and taking a job, for example in a cafe or some data-admin for example; something that only happens in the paid hours (i.e. doesn't take up any mental bandwidth outside of shift hours), to pay the bills, whilst then focusing on increasing weekly classes.

Then, we got on to probably one of my favourite topics; building a yoga offering that's not just weekly classes; such as a small but perfectly formed series of workshops, or a course. These often pay more, but have less ongoing commitment than weekly classes.

With that in mind, here's our 'Ways to share yoga' workbook, to help you assess your options for how you can increase your yoga offering without increasing weekly, ongoing commitment.

Enjoy!
